This is a picture of
my mother doing what she loved most to do. She could sit for hours making quilts. She didn't always use this type
of a quilter's block but she did use a hoop. She cut everything by hand and stitched them by hand.
Her talent was truly a gift handed down by her mother. Each quilt she made tells a story. Many times my mother
quilted several in a years time. As she got older and had more time to spend, she quilted more and more even
though her hands became stiff with arthritis and her eyesight became less and less, she never gave up quilting until
she had to. The last quilt she ever made was in 1999 for Brian and I for our wedding gift. She died shortly after
that..
